Late Victorian English 18kt Multi Gemstone Acrostic "DEAREST" Ring

SKU: 39737

A lovely English "DEAREST" ring from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! This charming acrostic ring is made of 18kt gold, and has a delicate and feminine look. A gemstone cluster forms the centerpiece, comprised of 7 colorful stones whose first letters spell out the word "DEAREST," making the ring part of a romantic Victorian tradition! The stones include a Diamond in the center, and an Emerald, an Amethyst, a Ruby, a second Emerald, a Sapphire, and a Tourmaline, which frame the center stone. All of the gems are lightly faceted, and bezel set within the surface. Hand engraved accents and filigree cutouts decorate the shoulders of the setting, extending to a smooth gold band in the back. Stamped inside the shank are several English hallmarks, including a Birmingham anchor, a crown, "18," and the date letter "a," which dates the piece to the year 1900. This sentimental ring would be perfect for everyday wear, and could make a perfect gift for someone special!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.5, but could be re-sized slightly if desired. The gemstone centerpiece measures about 5/16" in diameter. The tapered gold band measures 2mm wide at the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the gemstones are intact and securely set.
