MARCUS & CO. Art Nouveau 18kt Citrine & Seed Pearl Crown Ring
Best known for their Art Nouveau jewelry and silver, Marcus & Co. is an American jewelry firm started by Herman Marcus and his son in 1892. Their designs were of very high quality craftsmanship and their work is among the best examples of American Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts jewelry.
This beautiful ring is a wonderful example of the work by Marcus & Co. from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! The piece is made of 18kt yellow gold and has a regal-inspired design. A faceted citrine is prong set at the center, surrounded by a delicate seed pearl border. The oval-shaped citrine has a rich golden yellow color, which is the perfect compliment to the shimmery pearl halo. Completing the design is a smooth gold band, which is stamped "M&CO" inside. When worn, the ring makes a beautiful statement piece that could be worn day or night!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.75, but could easily be re-sized up or down as desired. The citrine and crown centerpiece measures approximately 7/8" tall, 1/2" wide, and rests 1/4" above the finger when worn. The band measures 2mm wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, or to the citrine and pearls, which are intact and securely set.
