Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of material and spiritual wealth, fortune, and prosperity. In Buddhism, she is also a goddess of abundance and fortune. An elegant and graceful figure, she is depicted with four arms (which stand for the four ends of life), and is dressed in fine robes that depict her prosperous nature. Lakshimi rests upon a fully bloomed lotus flower, and holds a lotus bud in her hand, representing beauty, purity, and fertility. The household goddess of most Hindu families, she is also a favorite goddess among women, attributed to her special symbolism.

This beautiful pendant from the early Retro (ca1940) era is a lovely depiction of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi! The delicate pendant is crafted in 18kt white gold and has a decorative 3-dimensional design. The surface is encrusted with 56 sparkling single cut and baguette diamonds, which weigh approximately .75ctw combined, and have estimated G-H range color and VS-SI range clarity. Lakshmi is depicted with a traditional Indian headdress, and is seated upon a blooming lotus flower, its petals fanning out behind her in an elaborate fashion. At the top of the pendant is a complimentary bail with a single baguette diamond in the center. Stamped on the back of the piece is "18K." A wonderful and symbolic piece, it would look stunning worn everyday on a fine white gold chain!

Measurements: The pendant 1 1/4" long, including the bail at the top. The pendant itself stands 1" tall, measures 1/2" wide, and 3/8" thick. The total weight of the piece is 6 grams.

Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the white gold setting or diamonds, all of which are intact. The bail is secure and in good condition.
