Retro Platinum Marquise Diamond Engagement Ring 2.73ct center
An incredible diamond engagement ring from the Retro (ca1940) era! Crafted in platinum, this stunning piece adorns a 2.73ct Marquise Cut diamond at the center of a unique setting. The diamond rests in a v-prong setting and exhibits H color and VS2 clarity, sparkling brilliantly in the light with every turn. Flanking the stone are 6 graduated baguette diamonds weighing 0.25ctw combined, which beautifully cascade down either side in a tapered bezel setting. Surrounding the baguette design are 18 Single Cut diamonds collectively weighing 0.25ctw, creating a fabulous oval-shaped frame around the centerpiece. In total, all of the diamonds weigh 3.23ctw combined, displaying a fantastic sparkling array with every turn. A smoothly polished band with a subtle knife edge design graduates towards the back, and stamped inside of the shank are ".100 IRID" and ".900 PLAT" purity marks. The ring was appraised in November 2019 by an independent and accredited GIA-certified gemologist and has a stated retail replacement value of $40,000.00. It's a breathtaking piece that looks spectacular when worn, and would make a special engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 8.75, but could be re-sized. The diamond centerpiece measures approximately 3/4" wide, 5/8" tall, and rests about 1/4" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 1.5mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set.
