Retro Silver Etched Coiled Snake Bracelet
A fantastic snake bracelet from the Retro (ca1940s) era! Crafted in silver, this bold piece has an eye-catching appearance and alluring serpentine design. An etched pattern along the entire length of the bracelet gives the piece a textured surface, mimicking the appearance of "scales" on the snakes' tail and body. The head and face have a wonderful 3-dimensional design with piercing eyes, a slightly open mouth and a heavily carved surface at the base of the head. When worn, the flexible bracelet coils several times around the wrist for a wide, dramatic look, resting snugly and securely with no need for a clasp. Stamped along the neck of the snake are several markings, which first appear to look English, however, are mostly likely of Chinese origin. A dramatic and striking bracelet, it has effortless modern appeal and would be right at home in any fashion-forward jewelry collection!
Measurements: When left tightly coiled, the bracelet's inner diameter (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/8" in size. When expanded, it measures up to 2 1/4" in diameter. The stack of coils measures about 1 1/2" wide in the back and 3 1/2 in the front, where the head and tail meet.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver design. The flexible design expands easily, and retracts again comfortably when set in place, allowing for a secure fit.
