Retro Silver Gilt Faceted Natural Zircon Adjustable Necklace
A simply gorgeous natural zircon necklace from the Retro (ca1940) era! This stunning necklace is set in silver gilt and features a strand of natural zircon gemstones, each bezel set in an eyeglass setting. The necklace clasps in two places and can be separated into two individual strands, allowing it to be worn multiple ways. The zircons vary in size and shape, and all have gorgeous colors in varying shades of blue. The faceted stones have a double refraction, catching and reflecting the light beautifully. It is difficult to capture the essence of their natural brilliance in a photograph, but blue zircons are sometimes mistaken for blue diamonds due to their lively appearance and sparkle. The full length of the necklace is long enough to slip easily on and off overhead. The lower portion can be removed, converting the single long strand into a shorter necklace with a simple drop extension in the center. The remaining strand can also be worn individually as a piece of its own. If desired, the the pieces can be doubled or worn together at the same time for a layered look. A very versatile and special statement piece, it is simply breathtaking and would make a spectacular addition to any collection!
Measurements: The full length of the entire necklace measures 45" long. When separated into two strands, the shorter version measures 18.5" long with a 1.5" drop extension in the center. The second single strand measures 26" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver gilt setting or to any of the natural blue zircon stones, all of which are intact and securely set. The spring ring clasps fasten securely and are in good working condition.
