Victorian Sterling & Carved Sodalite Dangling Earrings
A lovely pair of carved sodalite earrings from the Victorian era (ca1880s)! Each earring is particularly long and has unique and shapely design comprised of polished sodalite links. Three elongated links swing freely from a carved handle that hangs below a bead surmount. The sodalite stones vary slightly in size and shape, each displaying a wonderful range of royal blue and teal colors marbled with grey and white. The earrings hang from sterling wires, framing the face with lovely movement when worn. A striking pair of statement earrings, they have a strong look and would make a unique addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/2" long (including the wires) and measure 5/8" at the widest point (the handles). The large sodalite teardrop link at the center measures 1 1/2" long, while the smaller outer 2 links measure about 3/8" long. The bead surmounts measure 8mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is good. All of the sodalite links are intact, while a few of have very minor chips near the edge, which are small and not noticeable when worn. The sterling wires are secure.
