Arts & Crafts Sterling Opaline Glass Link Bracelet
The term "opaline" refers to many forms of opaque and colored glass. The glass is either opaque or slightly translucent and can appear either white or brightly colored in shades of green, blue, pink, lavender and yellow.
A beautiful opaline bracelet from the Arts & Crafts era (ca1915)! Made of silver, this wonderful piece is comprised of 8 round links that have a fine filigree wirework frame. Resting in the center of each is a large, round opaline stone, which is held within a delicate milgrained bezel setting. The opaline stones are unbelievably eye-catching, displaying a rich array of iridescent colors. Intense blue and purple flashes appear within the glassy yellow and orange orbs, creating an almost magical effect. Each filigree link is comprised of wirework sun rays that surround the opaline center, giving the subtle look of sunbursts. The bracelet fastens at a simple push clasp and an attached safety chain provides extra security. The underside of the clasped has a small makers mark; please refer to images. A truly stunning bracelet, it would look beautiful worn by itself or grouped with other complimentary bracelets, and would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The bracelet measures approximately 7.75" long. Each link is 7/8" wide and 3/4" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting, and the opaline stones are all intact. The push clasp and safety chain are both secure and in good working condition.
