THEODOR FAHRNER Art Deco Sterling Gilt Lapis Lazuli + Enameled Earrings
An incredible pair of earrings made by renowned German Art Deco (ca1930s) era designer Theodor Fahrner! Crafted in gilded sterling silver, each earring begins with a geometric enameled topper secured with a post and hinged ear harp. Hanging below is an elongated link featuring a gorgeous rectangular-shaped lapis lazuli stone which exhibits wonderful royal blue hues with rich gold pyrite flecks. The abstract design adorns two lovely blue tones of matte enameling decorating concentric silver circles that rest at the base of the prong set lapis. The earrings finish with four gold-toned bars that graduate in length and the underside of each is marked with a circled “TF” Theodor Fahrner hallmark and a “935” purity mark. These earrings fit perfectly into modern-day fashion and would make a fabulous addition to any Fahrner collection!
Measurements: The earrings measure approximately 2” long, a little less than 1/2” wide, and are 1/4" in depth. The earrings weigh 9.1 grams.
Condition: The earrings are in overall very good antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting. The lapis lazuli stones are intact and securely set. The enamel displays minor signs of wear, commensurate with age.
