These amethyst teardrop earrings from the Victorian era (ca1880) are simply stunning! Crafted in 14kt gold, each earring has a feminine drop design that dangles an amethyst briolette at the base. The teardrop amethyst stones are faceted on both sides and display a wonderful natural purple color. When worn, the facets catch the light perfectly, adding dimension and beauty to the natural stones. The amethyst links are capped in leaf-like tops, and dangle freely from a fine strand of gold chain, which is adorned with a faceted amethyst accent bead. At the top of the earrings are round wirework surmounts attached to gold earring posts. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, and would look lovely worn on special occasions!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 3/8" long. The faceted amethyst briolettes at the base measure approximately 7/8" tall, 1/2" wide, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or amethyst stones, all of which are intact and free of surface chips or scratches. The gold posts are secure and in good working condition.
