Victorian 14kt Amethyst & Diamond Button Earrings
A beautiful and unusual pair of amethyst studs from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each earring is formed by a beautiful amethyst stone that forms a button-shaped design. Riveted into the center of each stone is a sparkling diamond "X," representing thread sewn through each set of button holes. The overlapping criss-cross design is made of sterling silver and lined with sparkling Rose Cut diamonds. The amethyst stones display a gorgeous vivid purple color, and are faceted around the edges, catching the light perfectly. On the back of each earring is a secure 14kt yellow gold post and earring back, allowing for comfortable and easy wear. A unique pair of everyday studs, they would make a wonderful addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: Each earring amethyst cabochon has a 3/8" diameter and is approximately 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings are excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold posts and earring backs, which are intact and secure. The amethyst stones are free of chips or scratches, and the silver "X's" are in good condition with all diamonds intact.
