Victorian 14kt & Diamond Repousse Lion's Head Cufflinks
A wonderful and unusual pair of gold cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in vibrant 14kt yellow gold, each of these beautiful cufflinks has a 3-dimensional design depicting the head of a majestic lion. Intricate hand-engraving and raised repousse detail forms the lion's facial features, including slanted eyes, pointed ears, textured fur and whiskers, and an open mouth, as though growling. A sparkling Rose Cut diamond is clenched between the lion's teeth, and two vivid green cabochon gemstones represent its feline eyes. On the back of each cufflink is a curved gold bar link that ends in an oval-shaped stud. The side of each bar is stamped "14K" along with a small maker's hallmark. A very unique pair of cufflinks, they have a striking appearance and would look fantastic worn by a woman or a man. They would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The face of each cufflink measures approximately 5/8" tall, 1/2" wide, and has a depth of 1/4". The yellow gold bars measure approximately 3/4" long, and the oval studs are 1/2" long and 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, bar links, or repousse detail, and all of the stones are intact.
