Victorian 14kt Floral Repousse Signet Ring
A signet ring can be represented by a smooth or engraved seal, or with an intaglio, which is created by carving into the surface of a stone. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A simply stunning gold signet ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 14kt yellow gold, the ring has an oval-shaped face with a swirled set of monogrammed initials engraved at the center. The shoulders display a beautiful floral repousse design that travels along the sides of the band. A beautiful Victorian piece, it has lovely everyday look that could be worn by a woman or man!
Measurements: The oval signet stamp measures 3/8" tall and slightly over 1/4” wide. The ring has a finger size of 6, but could easily be re-sized up or down if desired.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold. A small seam can be detected at the back of the band where it was likely resized at one point, however it is not noticeable or visible when worn.
