Victorian 14kt Gunmetal Coin Holder Locket Pendant
A wonderful gunmetal coin holder pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unusual piece has a unique and functional design in a wearable pendant form. Crafted in gunmetal, the pendant has a wonderful dark matte finish and is finished with 14kt gold accents. A small push button clasp rests at the top of the locket, which allows the front to pop open, revealing a single expandable coin slot inside. The coin carrier is crafted in gold and has a lovely textured Guilloché pattern. Stamped on the edge of the coin slot is "14K," and one of the gunmetal doors is stampd "19" inside. There is a large ring handle at the top, and a set of engraved monogrammed initials on the reverse side of the piece. Perfect for any Victorian jewelry lover, this unique piece would look fabulous hanging from a long chain and would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The coin holder locket hangs 2" long (including the ring handle at the top). The gunmetal pendant has a 1 1/4" diameter and is 5/8" thick. The coin slots inside has a 7/8" diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gunmetal setting or gold accents. The piece opens easily and stays securely closed. The interior coin compartment is in good working condition. There is some light surface wear to the reverse side of the piece, which is normal for a Victorian era piece and not noticeable when worn.
