Victorian 14kt Hand Painted Porcelain Portrait Pin
A wonderful hand painted portrait pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This detailed piece is comprised of a hand painted porcelain plaque that rests within a 14kt yellow gold setting. The incredibly detailed image depicts a young woman, who is dressed in a white puffed sleeve blouse and blue corseted bust, with a red and black collar fastened around her neck. A curved, wide brim hat is perched atop her head, with two lovely roses tucked in at either side. Dark, curled tendrils of hair frame her face and rosy cheeks. An earthy, olive green background completes the artistic portrait. Surrounding the porcelain plaque is an ornate gold filigree setting and smooth gold border. The back of the piece is open and reveals the reverse side of the porcelain, which is lavender in color and signed "Barne." A gold pin clasp allows it to be easily fastened to a favorite garment. An impeccably well-crafted piece, it would make a unique addition to any collection!
