Victorian 14kt Opal & Diamond Cluster Pendant .70ct
This opal cluster pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era is quite spectacular! Decorating the entire front surface of the piece are two rows of mesmerizing opal cabochons that frame a cluster of diamonds at the center. The opals display a vibrant array of colors in hues of green, blue, pink, purple, yellow and white, emitting iridescent flashes that glow in the light. Resting at the center is a sparkling .70ct oval diamond surrounded by a row of delicate rose cut diamond stones. The back of the piece reveals a tiered open back setting with a scalloped filigree edge along the sides. The pendant hangs from a lovely matching bail, which is accented an opal and two delicate rose cut diamonds. A magnificent Victorian piece, it has an outstanding design that would look wonderful paired with a complimentary gold chain!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/2" long, has a 1" diameter, and is 1/2" at the deepest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to gold setting or to any of the opals and diamonds, all of which are intact. The bail is secure and in good condition.
