In French, fleur-de-lys means "lily flower." Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in artwork from the earliest human civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in various ways.

A beautiful fleur-de-lys pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is made of 14kt yellow and rose gold and has a delicate and feminine design. The fleur-de-lys is set with a single rose cut diamond at the top, adding a wonderful sparkle! The flowing design is hollow inside and has wonderful 3-dimensional repousse detail. At the top of the piece is a simple gold ring, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. This feminine Victorian piece merges seamlessly into modern day fashion and would make a perfect everyday pendant!

Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 1/4" long (including the ring for hanging). The fleur-de-lys itself measures 1" tall, 7/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the rose cut diamond, which is intact and securely set. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
