Victorian 14kt & Sterling Diamond Crescent Moon Necklace
A beautiful diamond crescent necklace from the Victorian era (ca1880)! The piece is made of 14kt rose gold that is topped in sterling silver, giving it a lovely mixed metals design. Originally worn as a pin, the crescent has since been converted into a pendant that now hangs from a fine white gold chain. A row of sparkling diamonds lines the face of the crescent, giving the piece a radiant sparkle! The graduating stones include old Mine Cut stones at the center, and rose cut diamonds at the tips. A gold filigree wirework design is visible from the side of the pendant, completing the feminine design. The white gold chain is attached to the top of the crescent, fastening with a spring ring clasp in the back marked "14kt ITALY". This celestial piece is simply stunning in person, and would look wonderful worn day or night thanks to its delicate size. It would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 18.5" long. The crescent pendant has a 5/8" diameter and measures approximately 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling-topped gold setting or to any of the diamonds, all of which are intact. The chain and spring ring clasp are secure and in good working condition.
