Victorian 15kt Chain with Rose Gold Tracery Slide 60"
A gorgeous slide necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! English in origin, the necklace is comprised of a rose gold slide that adorns a long, decorative yellow gold chain. Interlocking split links form the chain, accented with delicate beadwork details throughout. The surface of the slide has a fine etched pattern and a striking black tracery enamel motif at the center. The opposite side is decorated with an engraved border, and left smooth at the center. The slide moves easily, adjusting the placement of the chain as desired. At one end of the chain is a large rose gold watch swivel clasp, making it possible to hang a complimentary pendant or locket, or simply double the chain when worn. A lovely Victorian piece, it would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain measures 60" long from end to end, not including the watch swivel clasp, which hangs about 1" long in the center. The oval slide measures 1" long, 3/4" wide, and slightly more than 1/4" wide and thick. The total pennyweight of the piece is 51.6 dwt, or 80.2 grams.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold chain or slide, and the tracery enamel design is intact. The slide moves easily, and the watch swivel clasp fastens securely.
