Victorian 15kt Enameled Citrine Locket/Pendant
A magnificent citrine locket/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold (indicating English origin), the piece is oval in shape and particularly large in size. A wonderful enameled border surrounds a faceted citrine stone in the center, which is bezel set and catches the light beautifully! The border is comprised of black and white enamel and is enhanced with a delicate gold beadwork and twisted gold rope pattern. The piece hangs from a large fluted bail that carries a complimentary enamel and beadwork design. The back of the pendant reveals a large glass locket window that can be removed to store a special photograph inside. A spectacular Victorian piece, it would look incredible worn on a decorative gold chain and would make a special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 3/4" long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the locket. The oval locket measures 1 3/4" tall, 1 1/2" wide, and 1/2" thick.The oval citrine is 7/8" tall and 5/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, enamel border, or citrine stone. The bail and locket frame are both secure and in good working condition.
