Victorian 15kt/Silver & Diamond Locket
A gorgeous open-faced locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece holds a round glass frame at the center of a 15kt gold and oxidized silver border. Surrounding the removable glass center is a border of delicate rose cut diamonds, which sparkle beautifully in their closed foil-backed setting! The pendant hangs from a gold ring at the top, and would look lovely worn on fine gold or silver chain. The reversible design makes it possible to store two photographs inside, or a small flower or object pressed in between the glass. A very special antique keepsake piece, this pendant would make a wonderful addition to any personal collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs 1 1/8" long, has a 7/8" diameter, and is 3/16" thick. The round removable glass frame has a 1/2" diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the oxidized silver and gold setting, or to the glass window, which is free of chips or scratches. All of the diamonds are intact, and the bail is secure.
