Victorian 18kt & Diamond Painted Portrait Pin/Pendant
A wonderful and unusual pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is made of 18kt yellow gold and has a very ornate, decorative design. In the center of the piece is a hand painted portrait with incredibly realistic detail. The image depicts a young woman dressed in a peasant top and corset bust, wearing a garland wreath in her dark hair. Three delicate Rose Cut diamonds are set within the image, accenting her necklace and the straps at her shoulders. Surrounding the portrait is gold octagonal border decorated with delicate beadwork and six sparkling diamonds. A swirled filigree wirework border around the entire outside edge completes the incredible Victorian design. On the back of the piece is a simple bar pin clasp and long hook bail, allowing it to be easily worn as a pendant or fastened to a favorite garment and worn as a brooch. An exquisitely well-crafted piece, it would make a unique addition to any collection!
