Victorian 18kt Garnet Diamond Starburst & Foxtail Fringe Locket
A gorgeous garnet locket & pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This marvelous piece is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and is incredibly detailed. A rich, deep red garnet rests at the center, surrounded by a twisted rope wirework border. Inlaid into the surface of the garnet is an ensemble of delicate rose cut diamonds, which form a sparkling starburst motif. A row of foxtail fringe links dangle freely from the base in a graduated fashion, moving beautifully when worn. On the back of the piece is a large removable glass frame, perfect for storing a special photograph inside. Completing the design is a decorative fluted gold bail, which features pillar handles and delicate Etruscan beadwork accents. An exceptional antique piece, this stunning locket would look perfect worn on a favorite gold chain. It is certainly a must for the serious Victorian collector!
