Victorian 18kt Natural Coral Bead Teardrop Necklace
A beautiful coral necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is made of natural undyed coral beads, which meet at an elongated teardrop link at the center. The rich, vibrant color of the coral is quite spectacular! All of the coral beads are hand strung on orange thread and knotted in between. They graduate in size, with the smallest beads forming the back of the strand, and the largest resting at the center. The center teardrop link hangs from an 18kt yellow gold bail and cone-shaped cap, which is decorated with delicate flower accents. The strand of beads fastens with a secure barrel clasp in the back. This wonderful Victorian necklace highlights the beauty of natural coral, and would make a special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 19" long. The teardrop link hangs 2 1/8" long at the center. The largest beads measure 5-6mm in size, while the smallest measure about 3mm each.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the coral beads, which are all intact and securely strung. The sterling clasp is in good working order.
