Victorian 18kt Ruby & Diamond Cluster Ring
This ruby and diamond cluster ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era is simply outstanding! The 18kt gold ring features a luscious .70ct ruby at the center, which is surrounded by a border of sparkling Mine Cut diamonds. The diamond halo includes 10 stones, which weigh approximately 1.20ctw combined and rest in a crown-like setting. The ruby is prong set slightly above the diamond border, its rich red color contrasting beautifully with the sparkling diamond stones. A scalloped filigree motif is visible from the side of the cathedral-style mounting, and a smooth band completes the design. When worn, the ring is breathtaking and makes a spectacular statement piece! It would appeal to the Victorian collector, and would look exceptional worn on special occasions. It could make a fantastic gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size 8.25, but could easily be resized as desired. The ruby and diamond centerpiece has a 1/2" diameter and measures approximately 1/4" high.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to any of the stones, all of which are intact and securely set.
