Victorian 9kt Reversible Clear Double-Sided Locket
A beautiful double-sided locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely English locket has a simple round encasement crafted in 9kt gold. The reversible design features two clear windows, allowing a photo or object inside to show through to the surface on both sides. It would look beautiful with dried pressed flowers, charms, or special photographs contained inside! The piece is hinged and opens at a seam disguised within the gold bezel, the clear windows are comprised of celluloid. The piece hangs from a simple gold ring at the top, and would make a perfect everyday accessory paired with a favorite gold chain!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 1/2" long, including the bail at the top. The round locket has a 1 1/4" diameter, and measures 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal wear commensurate with age, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. Both clear windows are intact and secure within the round frames. There is some light surface wear to the exterior, which is minor and not noticeable when worn. The hinge is in good working order, and the locket opens and closes easily and securely. The ring at the top for hanging is also secure.
