Victorian Aesthetic Movement 12kt Mixed Metals Floral Shield Pendant Locket
A beautiful mixed metals locket from the late Victorian (ca1890s) era! This lovely piece is crafted in 12kt rose gold and has a shield-like shape, featuring a strong Aesthetic Movement era appeal. The locket displays a soft floral bouquet at the center of an ornate rose gold frame. Yellow gold foliage bursts from the fluted vase while two vibrant gemstones, one a sapphire, the other a ruby, adorn the center of two rose gold flowers resting on either side. An applied sterling band runs along the bottom of the vase and a single silver bead completes the design, pairing perfectly with the two-tone gold. Delicate engraving throughout adds further feminine appeal and three leaf clovers, along with soft gold flourishes and bead detail, adorn the sides. An oval-shaped window can be found on the reverse side of the piece, ready to hold a personal photograph if desired and a hook bail allows you to attach the locket to a favorite chain. A wonderful piece, this lovely locket would make a sweet addition to any collection!
