A lovely pair of banded agate earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These unusual studs are carved from banded agate stone, and set in 14kt gold. The banded agate exhibits a deep black color banded with a creamy white stripe, accentuating its oval shape. Set within the concave surface is a delicate rose cut diamond, adding a wonderful sparkling accent! Completing the design is a fine gold rope border, and a simple gold post on the back.
Measurements: The oval earrings measure 1/2" tall, 3/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The earrings are in very good antique condition. There is a smoothed flat section on the rope border of each stud, indicating that they may have been previously converted. However, it does not detract from the beauty of their design. The accent diamonds and banded agate stones are securely set, and the posts and earring backs are secure.
