SKU: 37813

$1,295
An incredibly elaborate pair of cannetille earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) period! These outstanding earrings are made of sterling silver and are crafted with very fine cannetille wirework. Each earring is comprised of an open framework that is intricately layered and hangs from a wire surmount surmount. Dozens of delicate beadwork flowers line the front of the earrings, and a tiny urn dangles freely in the open center. Delicate ball and flower accents hang from the base of each earring. Shapely cutouts, flowing wirework, and delicate beadwork details throughout complete the intricate design. A very unusual and exquisitely crafted pair of earrings, they are a wonderful example of fine Victorian era cannetille work. Despite their substantial size and design, the earrings are very lightweight and comfortable to wear. They hang with lovely movement when worn and are a must-have for a collector!

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/4" long from the top of the earring wire to the dangling accent at the base. The earrings measure approximately 7/8" at the widest point and 1/4" at the thickest point. The total weight of both earrings combined is 8.1 grams.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting and the cannetille wirework remains in good condition. The earring wires and surmounts are secure, as are the dangling elements throughout the design.
