Victorian English 15kt Gold Urn Earrings
A beautiful pair of hanging urn earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Of English origin, each of these urn-shaped earrings is crafted in vibrant 15kt yellow gold. The smooth 3-dimensional urns have a beadwork accent at the base, and Grecian-style handles at either side. They dangle freely from delicate surmounts accented with fine Etruscan wirework details, and fasten with clasped earring wires in the back. Thanks to their hollow design, the earrings are very light and comfortable to wear. A wonderful everyday Victorian accessory, they would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 3/8" long, including the wires at the top. The urns themselves measure 7/8" tall, just over 1/4" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold urns or to the clasped earring wire surmounts, which are secure and intact. The surface of the gold has a slight natural patina, which is normal for Victorian jewelry adds to the richness of of the appearance.
