Victorian English Silver Lion Compass Pendant
A lovely compass pendant from the Victorian period (ca1880)! Made of silver, the unusual piece holds a double-sided compass at its center. The compass is encased within a silver bezel complete with decorative accents and textured details. Perched at the top the framework is a stately 3-dimensional lion, which sits majestically with its head raised and paws outstretched. A silver jump ring is attached to the top, which is perfect for hanging the piece from a chain or charm bracelet. This fantastic piece would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 1/8" long, including the jump ring at the top. The square compass within its bezel frame measures 5/8" tall and wide, and approximately 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting or glass frame. The compass arrow spins and moves freely, and the ring at the top is secure and intact.
