Victorian English Sterling Silver Skeleton Key Pendant
A wonderful sterling silver key pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! English in origin, the pendant forms the shape of an old-fashioned skeleton key with an open handle and a long barrel shaft. The bottom of the key features lightly engraved textured detail and a swirled design on the edge. There are several connections along the barrel of the key, allowing it to swivel when turned. The key could either be hung vertically by its handle, or hung horizontally from a small silver ring connected to the barrel. A stylish piece with a lovely Victorian appearance, this charming key pendant would look perfect hanging from a favorite sterling chain and worn everyday!
Measurements: The key measures approximately 2" long, and hangs 1/2" long when hung from the small silver loop at the side. The handle measures 5/8" wide, and the barrel shaft is 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the key pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or swiveling parts, and the ring for hanging is secure.
