Product Details

A fantastic sterling silver watch chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is comprised of elongated open bar links that alternate with smaller twisted links in between. At the center of the chain is a stylish toggle that hangs beside a large spring ring clasp, making it possible to easily add a complimentary locket or pendant. Two sterling watch swivel clasps fasten the chain together at the back. All of the open bar links are stamped with several small English hallmarks, including an anchor and a lion. Both watch swivel clasps are marked; one stamped "925" and the other "STERLING." A versatile everyday chain, it would look perfect paired with a favorite fob, locket, or pendant!

Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures 17.25" long. Each long open bar link measures 1” long and 1/4" wide. Each twisted silver link measures 5/8" long and 3/16” wide. The toggle bar is 1 1/8" wide, and the large spring ring in the center has a 5/8" diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling links or toggle bar. The watch swivel clasps and spring ring clasp fasten securely and are in good working order. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver that gives it an antiqued appearance, which is normal for a Victorian era piece and adds depth to the design.
