A fabulous gold buckle locket pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This substantial piece is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and has a wonderful 3-dimensional design. The locket pin is portrayed by a wide strap which is threaded through a raised buckle and notch design. Lining the belt loop is an alternating row of natural pearls and vibrant pink sapphires. Framing the curved strap on either side is an ornate etched design and each "notch" is surrounded by twisted wirework. A glass covered locket face can be found on the underside of the piece, allowing you to place a photograph inside if desired. Additionally, a bar pin and clasp can be found on the back, allowing the pin to be securely fastened to a favorite garment. Buckle motifs are very common in Victorian jewelry, and this pin is a wonderful example. It would make a lovely addition to any collection!
