Victorian Long Sterling Silver Repoussé Vessel Earrings
A beautiful pair of dangling repoussé earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver, each earring forms the shape of an elongated vessel with a lovely textured surface. The repoussé detail is very fine and the earrings have a feminine and ornate design that travels along both sides, hanging particularly long in length. Each are marked near the top with an illegible stamp and hang from a topper featuring a cluster of grapes which attach to simple sterling wires. A natural darkened patina gives depth to the design and imparts an antiqued appearance. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear, these marvelous earrings look simply lovely and would make a gorgeous addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs 3 1/8" long, measures 5/8" wide and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or earring wires, which are secure. The darkened patina is normal for Victorian-era jewelry and adds depth to the design, however, they could be polished for a brighter look if desired.
