Victorian Petite Gunmetal Locket
A charming gunmetal locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unusual piece is petite in size and is crafted in gunmetal, with a wonderful dark matte finish. The hinged design opens at the side, revealing a hollow interior with a removable frame. Despite the delicate size of the piece, its "puffed" design provides enough depth inside to store a special photograph or a small object (such as a lock of hair or dried flowers.) It hangs from a gunmetal jump ring at the top, and would look perfect paired with a complimentary gunmetal or oxidized silver chain. The simplicity of the design merges seamlessly into a contemporary style, making it ideal for the Victorian jewelry lover or fashion conscious woman!
Measurements: The locket hangs 1 1/8" in total length, including the gunmetal ring at the top. The round locket itself has a 7/8" diameter and is 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gunmetal setting. The piece opens easily and stays securely closed, and the gunmetal ring for hanging is secure and in good condition. The removable frame inside is intact, and can be placed inside either "door" of the locket.
