Victorian Silver & Carved Coral Fly Earrings
A very unique pair of coral fly earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each earring is made of natural un-dyed coral, which is hand carved into the shape of a 3-dimensional fly. The flies have raised wings and lightly engraved detail depicting the eyes and body, creating a wonderful and charming appearance! A silver earring wire is attached to the top of each fly, completing the design. The placement of the wires gives the illusion that the flies rest just at the base of the earlobe when worn. These artistic earrings have a wonderful Victorian look and would make a unique addition to any antique collection!
Measurements: Each coral fly hangs approximately 5/8" long, measures 3/8" wide, and 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the carved coral flies or silver wires, which are intact and secure.
