Victorian Silver Gilt & Pavé Turquoise Bangle Bracelet
A spectacular turquoise bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in silver gilt, the entire outer surface of the magnificent piece is covered with beautiful pavé turquoise stones. A dome-shaped centerpiece gives a lovely 3-dimensional appeal to the design, while the sides of the bangle taper in gradually as they near the back. The natural turquoise stones vary slightly in size and shape, all displaying exceptional color in vivid shades of sky blue and sea green. At the side of the bracelet is a hinge and push clasp, where an added safety chain provides extra security when worn. This outstanding piece makes a dramatic statement and is simply breathtaking when worn! Perfect for any turquoise lover or serious Victorian collector, it would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The interior of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/8" wide and 2" tall, and would fit nicely on an average sized wrist. The dome-shaped centerpiece has a 1" diameter and rests 5/8" high. The shoulders of the bangle measure 3/4" at the widest point (where they meet the centerpiece) and taper in at the back, measuring about 1/4" wide at the narrowest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver gilt setting, which has some subtle color variation, a normal occurrence for antique jewelry. The hinge, push clasp, and safety chain are all secure and in good working order. The turquoise stones are all intact.
