Victorian Sterling/18kt Diamond Crescent Pendant Necklace 2.25ctw
A stunning diamond crescent necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in sterling silver topped 18kt gold and forms the shape of a sparkling crescent moon. Accenting the front surface of the crescent are 15 old Mine Cut diamonds which rest within a shared prong setting and tiny delicate beads are featured at each tip. The sparkling stones graduate in size, with the larger diamonds at the center and the smaller at the tips and collectively, the overall approximate diamond weight for the piece is 2.25ctw. The brilliant white stones have color in the J-K range and VS-I range clarity, exhibiting exceptional quality for a piece from this era. The crescent, which was originally worn as a pin, has since been converted to a pendant and hangs from two gold rings at the top which connect to a modern platinum chain that fastens in the back and is stamped "950" on the spring clasp. A truly gorgeous piece, this sparkling necklace looks stunning when worn and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 16.5" in total length. The crescent measures approximately 1" wide, is 1" tall, and is a little more than 1/8" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold, and all of the diamonds are intact. The platinum chain clasp fastens securely and is in excellent condition.
