Victorian Sterling/9kt Rose Cut Diamond Cross Pendant
An outstanding diamond cross pendant from the early Victorian (ca1850) era! This beautiful piece is substantial in size and adorns twelve sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds which are set in a sterling topped 9kt gold setting. Each faceted stone is held within a bezel setting and sparkles beautifully. The stones are consistent in size, except for the center which is slightly larger than the rest and the pendant hangs from a simple gold bail, allowing it to be hung from a complimentary chain. A very special piece, this striking pendant looks wonderful when worn and would make a marvelous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The cross hangs a little longer than 1 3/8" long, is approximately 5/8" at its widest, and has a depth of 1/8".
Condition: The diamond pendant is in excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and gold setting and all of the diamonds are secure. There is some very minor surface wear to stones, none of which is noticeable when the piece is worn. Due to the hand cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of antique diamonds.
