Victorian Sterling Black & White Enamel Cross Pendant
A fabulous cross pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is made of sterling silver and has a bold and striking enameled design. The body of the cross is wide and has a flat surface with cutout accents in the center. A smaller, accenting cross rests in the center of piece, completing the bold, 3-dimensional design beautifully. A black and white enameled design covers the entire surface of the cross, creating a wonderful geometric design. A simple sterling bail rests at the top, making it easy to attach to a simple sterling chain. On the back of the piece are several English hallmarks including "G&MC" and the profile image of a girl. A very special piece, this lovely pendant would make a wonderful addition to any sterling jewelry collection!
Measurement: The cross hangs approximately 2 3/8" long, is 1 7/8" at its widest and has a depth of a approximately 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting and the bail is secure and in good working condition. There is some minimal surface wear to the enameled design, however this isn't noticeable when the piece is worn.
