Victorian Sterling & Carved Banded Agate Bell Earrings
An artistic pair of banded agate earrings from the Victorian era (ca1880)! Each of these charming earrings is carved from banded agate stone into the shape of a 3-dimensional bell. The bells hang from simple agate bead and sterling wire toppers, swinging with lovely movement when worn. The base of each bell is represented by a bead that rests just below the top of the bell. The banded agate is smoothly polished for a glossy finish, and has a wonderful black color banded with stripes of creamy white. A unique pair of everyday earrings, they would make a versatile addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 1 5/8" long (including the wire tops). Each individual bell measures 3/4" tall and 1/2" across at the widest point. The bead tops measure 7mm in size.
Condition: The earrings are in excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling wires or connections, which are secure. All of the carved banded agate beads and links are intact. One of the bead toppers has a very small, shallow chip in the back, which is scarcely visible and not noticeable when worn.
