Victorian Sterling Etruscan Wirework Ball Earrings
A beautiful pair of earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of sterling silver, the earrings have a 3-dimensional ball design. Hugging the sterling ball is a row of fine Etruscan wirework. The Etruscan design has a pattern formed by raised swirls and delicate beadwork. The earrings hang from simple 14kt gold wires and rest just below the ear when worn. Delicate and beautiful, they display wonderful artistry and would make a one-of-a-kind addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 3/4" long and are 1/2" thick.
Conditions: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting, Etruscan wirework, or gold wires, which are secure. The surface of the silver has a darkened patina that gives it an antiqued look. This is normal and adds depth to the design, though they could be polished brighter if desired.
