Victorian Sterling Horse Fob & Watch Chain Necklace
A fantastic sterling silver watch chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful compilation necklace is comprised of two English watch chains that meet at watch swivel clasps in the back. The cuban link chains are stamped with English lion hallmarks along the side. At the center of the chain is a stylish toggle bar, which hangs beside a figural horse fob. The fob has a detailed 3-dimensional design, depicting a stately horse in mid-trot. Both watch swivel clasps are marked; one stamped "S.S." and the other "K" beside a small lion hallmark. A versatile everyday chain, it would appeal to the equestrian enthusiast as a special antique accessory!
Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures 20.75" long. The toggle bar hangs 1" long and measures 1 1/2" wide. The horse fob in the center hangs 1" long, measures 1" wide, and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the watch chains, toggle bar, or horse fob. The watch swivel clasps fasten securely and are in good working order. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver that gives it an antiqued appearance, which is normal for a Victorian era piece and adds depth and character to the design.
