Victorian Sterling & Mother of Pearl 'Good Luck' Amulet Pendant
An unusual carved fist pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This fantastic piece depicts a clenched fist, which is hand-carved from shimmery Mother of Pearl and capped in sterling silver. At the wrist is a sterling bracelet, which is decorated with a small blue stone in a bezel setting. The clenched fist holds a trio of small dangling 'Good Luck' amulet charms, including a sterling repousse heart, a salmon coral charm, and a small horn with a gold-filled cap. The piece hangs from a simple bail attached to the sterling cap at the top. A very unique piece, it would look fabulous hanging from a chain, or added to a special charm necklace!
Measurements: The entire piece hangs approximately 2 7/8" long. The Mother of Pearl fist measures 1 1/8" long and 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver, carved Mother of Pearl, or to the hanging charms. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
