Victorian Sterling Silver & Rose Gold Horseshoe Necklace
A fabulous horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Originally a Victorian pin, this lovely piece has been converted into a stylish necklace. The horseshoe has a hollow design crafted in sterling silver and is 3-dimensional in shape. Resting on the surface are 7 rose gold bars representing nails (always 7 for good luck!), which add a lovely mixed metals appeal. The horseshoe hangs from a contemporary sterling snake chain that fastens in the back with a simple spring ring clasp stamped "925 ITALY." The hollow design gives the necklace a lovely, lightweight feel when worn. Perfect for the equestrian enthusiast, the necklace blends seamlessly into modern day fashion and would make a versatile everyday piece!
Measurements: The horseshoe pendant measures 1 1/2" tall, 1 3/8" wide, and about 1/4" thick. The chain measures approximately 16" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is very good. There is some light surface wear to the sterling setting, which is normal for an antique piece. The back of the horseshoe has two raised ridges where the original pin clasp was removed. There is some light color variation throughout the sterling pendant and chain due to a natural patina, which is common for vintage and antique pieces made of silver. The chain is secure and the clasp is in good working order.
