Victorian Sterling Silver Roman Coin Chain Necklace 55"
A wonderful flowing sterling chain necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this flowing chain is particularly long in length and comprised of eight small Roman coin links that alternate with sections of fine chain. Each Roman coin is double-sided and wonderfully detailed, with alternating designs. One side displays the profile of a beautiful woman's face and the opposite side depicts a symbol comprised of a bow an arrow that incorporates a crescent moon at the center. The chain links that connect the piece are oval shaped and small 3-dimensional pyramidal links accent the coins, one resting on either side of each. Due to the generous length, the necklace slides easily over the head, no need for a clasp, and can be worn doubled or even tripled if desired. A fabulous necklace with a wonderful look, this beautiful chain would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The overall length of the chain measures 55". Each coin has a diameter of approximately 9mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling chain or coins.
