A wonderful flowing sterling chain necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this flowing chain is particularly long in length and comprised of 10 small Roman coin links that alternate with sections of ornate chain. Each Roman coin is double-sided and wonderfully detailed, with alternating designs. One side displays the profile of either a woman or man's face and the opposite side depicts either a branch with leaves or a symbol comprised of a bow an arrow that incorporates a crescent moon as the bow. The chain links that connect the piece are oval shaped and decorated with a textured outer surface, adding beautiful detail to the design. At the center of the piece is a sterling spring ring clasp, allowing it to be doubled or worn with a complimentary silver pendant or coin if desired. An incredible necklace with a wonderful look, this beautiful chain would make a very special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The overall length of the chain measures 56". Each coin has a diameter of approximately 9mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling chain or coins and the spring clasp is secure and in good working condition.
