Vintage Chinese Silver Lapis & Blue Enamel Teardrop Earrings
A wonderful pair of vintage earrings from the 1940s! These beautiful earrings are crafted in sterling silver and have a decorative design that reflects their Chinese origin. Each earring features a teardrop link that hangs from a complimentary drop surmount. All three of the links have a cabochon lapis center, which is surrounded by an intricate border with 3-dimensional details. Delicate flowers comprise the layered border, with royal blue enameled petals and fine beadwork centers. A simple post rests on the back of each surmount, and the back of the teardrop links are stamped "CHINA SILVER." When worn, they dangle with lovely movement and frame the face perfectly!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/4" long from top to bottom. The circular links measure 3/8" in diameter and are 3/16" thick. The teardrop links at the base measure 1 1/4" long, 5/8" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The earrings are in very good vintage condition. There are some light signs of normal surface where, which is commensurate with age and normal for a vintage piece. The silver setting remains free of damage, and the lapis stones are intact and in good condition. There are a few chips throughout the enamel design, however they do not detract from the overall beauty of the design. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is normal for vintage jewelry and adds to its unique character and appearance.
