Vintage Silver & Synthetic Stones Italian Fob Bracelet
A fob is an adornment or a seal that hangs from the ribbon or chain of a pocket watch. Its purpose is to decorate or add weight to the watch chain itself making it easier for the watch to be withdrawn from a pocket. The fob would have been used to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A very impressive vintage Italian fob bracelet from the 1950s-1960s! This substantial piece is made of 800 silver, and is comprised of six decorative fobs that hang from an anchor link bracelet. Each of the six large fobs has a very ornate design, complete with raised beadwork and wirework, and synthetic cabochon stones. The fob links vary in size and shape, and the largest center link has a hinged lid and open compartment inside. The synthetic stones are bezel set and include a wonderful range of colors, including royal and turquoise blues, sea green, and garnet red. The hollow anchor links are decorated with delicate flower accents, and a silver hook clasp fastens the piece together. This unusually large bracelet is quite a conversation piece, and makes a fabulous statement when worn!
Measurements: The bracelet measures approximately 7.5" long and would fit nicely on an average sized wrist. The fobs vary in size and shape, with the largest hanging 1 3/4" long and measuring 1" wide and thick. The smallest fob hangs 1" long and measures 1/2" wide and thick. The anchor links measure 3/4" long, 1/2" wide, and 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver link bracelet or fobs. All of the synthetic stones are intact. The hook clasp is secure and in good working condition.
